We have a vision for a remote, as yet unspoiled area, in the Cayo district of Belize – a whole protected valley and surrounding slopes and ridges, including up to 2050 acres of pristine rainforest, and three waterfalls of pure water, creating three tributaries to the main creek in the valley. 1800 acres are now under severe threat of development, and we are seeking funding to help protect that area in the long term, build a reserve and bio-corridor connecting Tapir Mountain Reserve, Bullrun Reserve and Mountain Pine Ridge into one seamless protected eco-system.

250 acres have already been bought through our personal investment for the Regenerative Rainforest Refuge project. 300 adjoining acres have recently been acquired by two separate parties seeking development. 175 acres have been offered to us now, on a first-refusal basis. Another 1500 acres, covering the surrounding slopes and ridges of the valley are ear-marked for so-called ‘eco-developments’.

Personally, we will generate (from pensions, assets, and ongoing income) a further investment of about US $500,000 over the next four years. So we really only need help with buying the additional land (1800 acres, which will probably require about US $2,200,000). Interest-free loans by a consortium of supportive investors would secure the land and speed up sustainable development under our watchful eye and auspices.
